Made in Denmark: Power Ranking the top 10 at Silkeborg Ry
As explained in the intro, this is a critical week for Eddie Pepperell seeing as he needs a win and some help by the Thunder Bear to earn a spot on captain Bjorn’s squad. There’s a talented crop of players looking for a captain’s pick, too, so Pepperell knows plan A might be the only plan.
Fortunately for him, he’s in this position due to a career year he’s having. The 27-year-old picked up win No. 1 at the Qatar Masters and was runner up in the Rolex Series’ Scottish Open. He’s perhaps best known in the mainstream as the guy who shot 67 at the Open Championship hungover.
However you slice it, the quick witted Englishman is making a name for himself. He comes to Denmark off of four made cuts in a row including a T9 last week at the Czech Masters.
Pepperell has had some success in Denmark, finishing T4 at this event in 2014 and T28 last year.
He is second in strokes gained approaching the green on the European Tour and 21st in bogey avoidance.
