Joost Luiten picked up his second KLM Open win when he romped to a three-shot win in 2016 in a less dramatic affair than when he edged Miguel Angel Jimenez in a 2013 playoff.

The Dutchman has proven he can win outside his home country, too, the latest example being his win this year at the Oman Open.

Yet again, Luiten is another player who suffered a wrist injury this year that is back healthy for this week’s event. Odds are he may have been able to return sooner, but it’s reasonable to believe he wanted to be as close to full strength as possible for his home tournament.

Luiten is good at limiting mistakes (second lowest bogey average) and is solid approaching the green (sixth in strokes gained). That was the formula he used in 2016 when he made just three bogeys (none worse) and was second in greens in regulation en route to rounds of 69-64-69-63.

Luiten’s 19-under winning score tied for the tournament low since Payne Stewart went 21 deep to win in 1991.
