Cameron Smith makes his Tour Championship debut with an outside chance at cashing the $10 million in the process. The Aussie got to East Lake on the strength of a T3 at the Northern Trust and a solo third at the Dell Technologies Championship. He came down to earth with a T65 last week.

He has five top-10s in 21 starts in 2018 and seeks his first individual PGA Tour win. He and Jonas Blixt teamed up to win the 2017 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Smith appeared to find playoff form out of nowhere as he hadn’t finished in the top 20 since his T5 at the Masters.

Smith looks like a mainstay on future Presidents Cup teams and has two top-fives in majors in his career. It wouldn’t be a total surprise if he won this week, but there are better options out there.

He ranks 161st in greens in regulation and 147th in fairways hit. Not a good combo when contending against East Lake’s juicy Bermuda rough.
