Kyle Stanley is quietly making his second straight Tour Championship appearance. He reached East Lake this year by finishing runner up at elite events like the Memorial and WGC-Bridgestone. In the playoffs, Stanley has gone T28-T12-T45.

The top ten finish Stanley scored at Firestone was his only one since May, though, and it’s tough to see him finishing near the top of an absolutely stacked field this week.

His accuracy off the tee (fifth on TOUR in fairways hit, 71.89 percent) is a great asset this week, as is his ball striking which helps him to third in greens in regulation. The formula for success is there, but coming from 25th still gives him an uphill battle to fight.

Stanley showed he can go low here last year with a 64 on Thursday but two 73s submarined his chances.
