The Portugal Masters has been an ATM of sorts for Lucas Bjerregaard. He is the defending champion and has finished T47-T9-T12-1 playing every year since 2014.

In 14 rounds (2014 was shortened to 36 holes), Bjerregaard has broken par in 13 and has been in the 60s in 11. He fired 66-65-68-65 to win by four last year.

His recent form is almost as impressive. The Dane has achieved his second run of three top-10s in a row in 2018, going T9-6-2 at the Czech Masters, Made in Denmark and European Masters. Bjerregaard opted for rest last week after four events in a row.

His aggressive style fits well this week and is demonstrated by his seventh ranking on the European Tour in birdie average (4.51 per round).

Bjerregaard is also 39th in strokes gained off the tee and 23rd in strokes gained tee to green aided by him sitting 10th in greens in regulation. Per usual, if he can rake in some putts he’s got as good of a shot as any.
