Chris Wood has come tantalizingly close to his first win since 2016. He’s up to three second-place finishes in 2018 after falling by one to Ashun Wu, who just narrowly missed this week’s top 10.

Wood fired rounds of 65-70-65-69 in his close call at the KLM Open, which comes on the heels of a T23 at the European Open.

The Englishman gathered a solo second early in the year at the Oman Open and was T2 this summer at the Open de France, a Rolex Series event.

Wood ranks 39th in strokes gained approaching the green and finished third last week in greens in regulation (80.6 percent). He’s also 25th in strokes gained putting.

As long as he can keep it in the ballpark off the tee, Wood’s got a chance to seal the deal.
