Matt Wallace is the only player on the European Tour with three wins. He’d love to be the only one with four.

The Englishman may feel he’s got something to prove in his first start since learning he was not among Thomas Bjorn’s European Ryder Cup captain’s picks.

Wallace, a sophomore on the European Tour, enters having made four cuts in a row. That includes a T19 at the PGA Championship and a win at the Made in Denmark.

His 2018 also includes wins at the Indian Open and International Open. It’s been a boom or bust year, though, for Wallace as a T3 at the China Open is his only other top-10 in 22 starts.

Still, he’s clearly becoming a player to watch after winning as a rookie in 2017 and winning six times on the minor league tours in 2016.

Wallace finished T39 in his Portugal Masters debut last year.

He ranks ninth in eagles per round and 38th in birdies. The 28-year-old is also 43rd in strokes gained off the tee and 47th in scrambling.
