Ryder Cup: Breaking down each member of Team USA
The U.S. Ryder Cup team has experience in droves. Eight of the 12 players have played multiple times in the Ryder Cup already. Will that be enough to bring the vaunted trophy home from Paris?
The U.S. Ryder Cup squad has only won twice this millennium. Things look to be on the upswing, as a lot of the U.S. golfers have experience in the event. They are also coming off of a very strong win in 2016. It was actually their third largest win since the current U.S. vs Europe format started in 1979, at 17-11.
Brooks Koepka has only played in the Ryder Cup once, back on the victorious 2016 squad at Hazeltine. Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, and Bryson DeChambeau are all first-timers.
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are back once again. They are the oldest guys this time around, and Mickelson is playing in his 12th consecutive Ryder Cup.
Jim Furyk is leading the squad for the first time. He has played in it himself nine times, and can hopefully bring worthy experience to the U.S. side. His five co-captains have plenty of experience as well, with a combined 20 appearances playing in the Ryder Cup.
This year, the Ryder Cup will be held in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, at the Albatros Course at Le Golf National. An added element of intrigue is this will be the first time the Ryder Cup has been held in France.
