Where was Ryan Moore when the Americans needed him last week? His form obviously didn’t warrant a captain’s pick, but his accuracy off the tee and irons fit Le Golf National well.

Fortunately for him, it can do just fine at the Safeway Open. In two starts at Silverado, Moore picked up a T10 in 2015 and T17 last year to reach a cumulative 18-under in eight rounds.

Moore had a quietly solid 2018 that featured four top-10s and just five missed cuts. We’re used to seeing him contend a bit more, but he wasn’t far off.

Moore’s last start was at the Dell Technologies Championship over Labor Day weekend, so he’ll come in rested.

Last year on Tour, the five-time career winner finished fourth in driving accuracy and 15th in strokes gained approaching the green.
