I won’t hold it against anyone for not paying attention to the Web.com Tour, but if you were even so little as abreast of The 25, you would know that Sungjae Im was killing it last season.

After a successful, yet winless, sting on the Japan Tour, the 20-year-old South Korean became the first player ever to lead the Web.com money list wire-to-wire. He won his first Web event and ended the season with two wins total and three runner-ups.

Im finished one shot out of a playoff in his quest to win in his first standard PGA Tour start a couple weeks ago at the Safeway Open, but a T4 is still an impressive debut. Im did play in two majors last year and was T42 at the PGA Championship.

He was ninth in strokes gained off the tee and sixth in putting on the Web. Im’s distance is also valuable at Nine Bridges.

Byeong Hun an and Si-Woo Kim are still ahead, but Sungjae Im is quickly gaining ground for top South Korean.
