Schauffele posted a respectable 25th-place finish last week which came on the heels off a T3 and T7 in the final FedEx Cup Playoffs events.

He couldn’t quite replicate his two-win rookie campaign, but Schauffele was still very good in 2017-18. The 24-year-old had six top-10s, two of which were runner-ups at the PLAYERS Championship and Open Championship. He missed just five cuts and was in the top 25 in 14 of 29 events.

Schauffele didn’t fare well in his CJ Cup debut (T72), but I attribute some of that to the tail end of what had to be an exhausting first season in the big leagues. He proved he can play well at Nine Bridges with an opening 69, but I’ll graciously omit what happened in the next 54 holes.

The former San Diego State Aztec made birdie or better on over half his par-5s last year (16th) and was overall a pretty well-rounded player last season.
