SOTOGRANDE, SPAIN – OCTOBER 31: Soren Kjeldsen of Denmark tee’s off at the 2nd during the final round of the Andalucia Valderrama Masters at Club de Golf Valderrama on October 31, 2010 in Sotogrande, Spain. (Photo by Richard Heathcote/Getty Images) /

If it’s wet and rainy as the forecast suggests it could be, a grinder like Soren Kjeldsen becomes more valuable. He thrives in tough conditions and a tree-lined course like Valderrama is right up his alley.

The Dane won the Volvo Masters here in 2008 and has played here nine times with two more T2 finishes. Unlike others in the field who haven’t played here in years, Kjeldsen posted T18 at the 2017 Andalucia Valderrama Masters.

Kjeldsen’s made six cuts in a row with three T12 or better. Beware, though, as this will be the ninth start in 10 weeks for the 43-year-old.

His stats show he’s 59th on the European Tour in scrambling and is 79th in greens in regulation, which are both above average marks.
