Ian Poulter must be glad he’s qualified for this event again. The Englishman makes his return to WGC-HSBC Champions for the first time since 2015.

His resume at Sheshan stands up to just about anyone else’s: a win, a runner-up and another top-10 as part of seven top-30 finishes in 10 starts (none worse than T45).

He’s in good form of late as he finished T10 last week at the CJ Cup, where he was in the final group on Sunday. That was his seventh top-10 worldwide of 2018.

It’s also been a great year as he helped Europe to the Ryder Cup (2-2 record) and won the Houston Open for his first win on any tour since 2012.

Poulter ranked 25th in strokes gained approaching the green and 36th in driving accuracy last season on Tour.
