Lucas Herbert earns the distinction of being the only one in my top 10 who’s making his Turkish Airlines Open debut.

No course history is necessary to earn my trust when you can counter with three straight top-10s.

The young Aussie finished T2 in Portugal, T7 at the Dunhill Links and T3 a few weeks ago at the British Masters. Equipped with a couple weeks rest, Herbert is locked and loaded to contend for his first win.

On the year, Herbert owns seven top-10s in 20 starts, six of which came in European Tour-sanctioned events. The 23-year-old also qualified for the U.S. Open and the Open Championship and finished T51 in the latter.

He ranks 15th on the European Tour in birdie average, 33rd in strokes gained off the tee and 35th in SG putting.

Despite his success, a rookie season can be stressful for anyone. Now that he’s in a no-cut event, he can let loose and try to hunt down that first win.
