Shane Lowry picked up a high finish as he returns to another site of success.

The Irishman posted his top result of 2018 with a solo second place finish only behind multiple tournament champion Sergio Garcia at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters.

While still winless since 2018, Lowry’s in good form with  solo sixth a few starts a go at the Portugal Masters.

Primarily playing on the PGA Tour, he has eight top-25s in 2018.

Lowry cashed in for a T8 in his Regnum Carya debut in 2017. Rounds of 68-66-65 to start had him in the hunt before falling back on Sunday.

It was a tough year on the greens for Lowry (152nd in strokes gained putting), but he was second in last year’s field in putts per GIR. If this year’s ballstriking effort (52nd SG tee to green) joins last year’s putting stroke, a win could be in the cards.
