Louis Oosthuizen has played the Nedbank Golf Challenge about as often as any with seven starts since 2010. He finished solo fourth in 2012 and has two top-10s since the event expanded in 2016. He finished solo ninth in 2016 where he was in contention after 54 holes and T8 in 2017.

He’ll have plenty of support playing in his native South Africa and was a winner on home soil at the 2011 Africa Open.

“Yeah, it’s always fun being back here, especially a special place like this,” Oosthuizen said in 2017. “This is a tournament we grew up watching and want to play in it and eventually one day want to win it.”

Oosthuizen will also be buoyed by some good golf of late. He’s made seven cuts in a row dating to May, picked up a T5 at the CIMB Classic and was T29 in his last start at the CJ Cup.

His sweet swing ranked him 31st on the PGA Tour in strokes gained off the tee. It wasn’t just full swings where he was successful as he also checked in at 13th in SG around the green.
