RSM Classic: Power ranking the top ten at Sea Island
Joaquin Niemann is showing off consistency reserved for players nearly double his age. He just turned 20 on Nov. 7, the day before last week’s Mayakoba Classic.
Niemann celebrated by making his ninth straight cut on the PGA Tour by placing T60. It wasn’t his finest performance, but he’s just two weeks removed from a T10 in Vegas.
Niemann is becoming more and more of a household name after starring with limited status in 2018. He recorded four top-10s between April and July and showed off great ball striking along the way.
He did so all while seeing most of these courses for the first time. That’ll be the case again this week.
Niemann was fifth on Tour in strokes gained approaching the green and 12th in SG off the tee last year. If he’s dialed in and can avoid having to rely on his short game, he could pick off his first career win.
