Zach Johnson is among the legion of Sea Island residents playing at home this week. Johnson’s record at the RSM Classic leaves a little bit to be desired considering his local knowledge, but it’s still solid.

ZJ tied for eighth in 2017 to record his fifth made cut in eight starts. It was his third top-20 after a T12 in the inaugural event in 2010 and a T16 in 2013.

Johnson made a ton of cuts on Tour last season. He won’t be happy with just one top-10 in 21 starts, but only two missed cuts show he’s still grinding as hard as ever.

From the U.S. Open to the PGA Championship, the Iowan recorded six straight finishes between 12th and 19th.

Johnson missed the cut last week at the Mayakoba while shaking off the rust from two months off. Now that he’s back in the swing of things, I like the consummate plodder to iron and wedge his way to low scores this week.
