A lot of positive forces are coming together this week for J.J. Spaun. The San Diego State product finished solo second at the 2017 RSM Classic and comes to Georgia off of a T3 last week at the Mayakoba Golf Classic.

Plus, he’s not your big household name so he could boast some tempting DFS or betting odds.

Spaun (69-65-65-66) fired four rounds in the 60s last week en route to recording his third straight top-20 and seventh straight made cut.

In the early going in 2018-19, Spaun’s been solid all around with ranks of 75th or better in every main strokes gained category. He hit 83.33 percent of his greens last week and gained over five strokes total on the greens.

Spaun scorched Sea Island to the tune of 67-70-62-66 last year to end up four shots adrift of winner Austin Cook. One of the Tour’s underrated ball strikers had another great GIR week at 88.89 percent. Hitting nearly 80 percent of his fairways also helped out considerably.

In his first two seasons on Tour he’s recorded eight top-10s and has comfortably kept his card. Now at age 28, I think he’s ready to take the next step and pick up his first win soon.
