Peter Karmis had a nice season on the Sunshine Tour with a win and has fared well in limited run on the European Tour. Karmis, 37, made four of six Euro Tour cuts which includes a T18 at the Czech Masters.

Karmis, who is of dual-citizenship between Greece and South Africa, will team with Alexander Tranacher.

Tranacher has played just five events since 2017 that count toward world ranking points. All were missed cuts. Karmis is ranked inside the top 250 in the world, but with Tranacher outside the top 2000, to call this team a long shot would be generous. Still, both players understand that this is an opportunity to play for a country that still has plenty of room to grow in the golf world.

"“It will be the most important event in my career and with that Peter and I have the chance to make the golf sport more popular in Greece,” Tranacher was quoted by the PGA Tour. “The golf market in Greece is growing and I am more than happy to contribute with our participation in the World Cup of Golf.”"
