The 11th hole at Shadow Creek is one of the signatures of the Tom Fazio classic. Measuring just a touch over 300 yards, this straightaway par-4 is protected on the front by a relatively deep bunker, and the green itself measures just about 15 yards from front to back. That’s not easy, by any means.

Good for us, then, that we’ve got two of the guys who are still plenty long off the tee to make this happen, and in an aggressive match-play setup.

Both players have outstanding overall control, but let’s be honest here, accuracy with the driver isn’t exactly either man’s strong suit. The setup of the hole doesn’t play particularly well for Mickelson’s typical cut-fade, but if either player is going to have a shot, this could be a great place for Tiger to unleash his classic stinger, running a 3-wood up the left side and trying to roll it in on the hill from left to right.

While I do believe you’ll see an aggressive line taken on most holes – and this could certainly change based on the positioning of the match when they get to this spot – I don’t think either player will succeed in driving and holding the green.

The “yes” bet coming in at +300 gives tempting return on investment, but the “no” is the smarter play here.
