Tiger Woods enjoyed a stellar comeback season on the PGA TOUR in 2018. He’s said that he wants to manage his schedule a little more tightly in 2019, but what does that really look like? Here’s a possible look at his schedule for the new year.

Tiger Woods is one of the greatest to ever pick up a set of golf clubs, this much we know. His return to the PGA TOUR in 2018 exceeded basically all realistic expectations, and even most of the far-fetched fantasy-land ones along the way. But he acknowledged that he slowed down as the season wore on, and he wants to manage his schedule better in 2019.

But what does that really look like? Woods played in 18 events last year, and he said at the Hero World Challenge that he wanted to try to reduce that number in 2019.

"“I’m not going to play as many as I did this year,” Woods said in the Bahamas. “I played in too many this year, and that was from adding an event because I missed the cut at [the Genesis Open] to qualifying to get into Akron [the Bridgestone Invitational]. Who knew that I could make it through all the playoff events? So all those events took a toll. I won’t be playing as much as I did [in 2018].”"

Here’s what we do know as we get ready to ring in the new year. Tiger will be skipping the Sentry Tournament of Champions this week, which is no surprise. He’s also told media that the only events he’s sure he’ll play this year are the Genesis Open (hosted by the TGR Foundation) and the four major championships.

Of course, that won’t stop people – including yours truly – from trying to figure out ahead of time where Tiger WILL, in fact, tee it up. After all, more than 20 years into his legendary career, he’s still the biggest draw in the game. Knowing what we do about Tiger’s plans, here’s where I expect we’ll see him in 2019.
