Rafa Cabrera Bello has played the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship every year since 2009 and only once went home without a check in his pocket.

The Spaniard has yet to win, but six top-25s in 10 starts leaves reason to believe that RCB will get it done someday.

He peaked with a T4 finish in 2014 and his most recent effort was T40 in 2018 (72-70-73-67).

“I’ve always said that I feel very comfortable here,” Cabrera Bello said in 2014. “It reminds me a bit of home with the palm trees and the sand and the good weather, so I enjoy playing in short sleeves and in the sunshine.”

RCB went winless in 2018 despite being one of the European Tour’s more consistent players. The 34-year-old churned out eight worldwide top-tens, including two third-places, in 29 starts splitting between the European Tour and PGA Tour. He missed only five cuts.

Cabrera Bello last competed at the Hong Kong Open in late November where he finished T6. That was his fourth top-20 in a row and sixth straight cut made.

He was top-50 in all the main strokes gained categories last season in Europe including 17th tee to green and 23rd around the green. He got up-and-down 65.7 percent of the time, good for second.
