Dubai Desert Classic: Power ranking the top 10 at Emirates GC
Rafa Cabrera Bello is a horse for the course at Emirates GC. The 34-year-old Spaniard peaked with a win at the 2012 Dubai Desert Classic and also was co-runner-up in 2016. In total, RCB owns six top-20s in nine starts playing here every year since 2010.
“Obviously coming here, it has‑‑ it brings up lots of great memories, great feelings, really, really good experiences, lots of confidence, because it’s a course I like; I’ve played good before,” Cabrera Bello said prior to the 2013 tournament. “Every time I’m playing a hole here, I have a great memory from last year from that hole.”
Cabrera Bello, who made his European Ryder Cup debut in the fall, has been on a good run in his most recent starts.
He capped 2018 with four consecutive top-20s and began the new year right with a T11 last week in Abu Dhabi. Cabrera finished second in the field in putts per round and is due to turn around his ball striking after finishing last season 17th on the European Tour in strokes gained tee to green.
