Tyrrell Hatton is gunning for his fourth straight top-10 at the Dubai Desert Classic. He’s gone T8-T3-3 the last three years. In that span, Hatton is a combined 48-under (!) with seven rounds in the 60s and none worse than level par.

“I love being out here,” Hatton said in 2017. “The golf courses are fantastic and always in good condition. Quick greens is what players like, so I always look forward to coming back.”

Hatton is coming off a missed cut last week in Abu Dhabi, which was his last start since mid-November. I’m going to chalk that one up to rust as he made his last eight cuts dating back to the summer.

Albeit winless, Hatton had a solid 2018. In 25 starts he had a runner-up, two thirds and four more top-10s. He’s been knocking on the door for a while, and will look to take it home this week.

His stats had him finish sixth last year in stroke average thanks to a well rounded game. He was 14th in SG putting and 29th in SG tee to green. If he can put together that well rounded game for four rounds, he has a great chance this week.

Hatton’s a fiery competitor who will look to bounce back quickly this week at a course he enjoys.
