Remember how I said be cognizant of those hopping from the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego to Saudi Arabia? Throw it out the window with Rose.

The 38-year-old is a pro’s pro who not only knows how to jet set around the world, but is not the type who was going to get too carried away after last week’s win.

Rose fired 63-66-69-69 at Torrey Pines where he won relatively comfortably by two. He hit nearly 80 percent of his greens for the weak and drove the ball decently to largely avoid the tenacious rough.

This was all with his new Honma clubs, which had some wondering if the switch would negatively affect his game. Apparently not.

This week will be Rose’s third event of 2019 as well as third in a row. He posted T34 at the Desert Classic.

Even short of a win, Rose almost always grinds his way into making cuts and cashing a decent check. He’s made his last five 36-hole cuts worldwide and 22 of the last 23.
