Bryson DeChambeau may hold the claim of the world’s hottest golfer right now, even over last week’s Farmers Insurance Open winner and world No.1 Justin Rose.

DeChambeau was a winner last week, too, and it wasn’t even close. The 25-year-old American  shot 68-66-68-64 to blow away the field at the Dubai Desert Classic by seven shots.

DeChambeau has now won four times in his last nine worldwide starts. When asked how he’s doing it, Bryson gave a very Bryson answer.

“It’s a lot of hard work with my caddie and just really grinding and trying to figure out how to take account of all the variables out there, whether it’s air pressure, firmness values, mile-per-hour on the speed, putts, and ball speed, spin rates,” DeChambeau said in Dubai. “We’re trying to figure out as much as possible so I can be as successful as possible and obviously it’s shown.”

To win like that in Dubai obviously requires playing well throughout the bag. DeChambeau particularly excelled in greens in regulation (80.6 percent, 2nd) and putts per GIR (1.57, 2nd).

He is seeking to go 4-for-4 in 2019 in finishing in the top 10. DeChambeau was solo seventh at the Tournament of Champions and T10 at the Sony Open.

He made 19 of his last 20 cuts as well as five in a row.
