Patrick Reed seems to like ping-ponging back and forth between the U.S. and the European Tour. Fresh off a T13 last week at the Farmers Insurance Open, Reed took the long jet ride to come to the Saudi International.

At Torrey Pines, Reed was under par all four rounds (69-69-69-70). He putted excellently to gain about 2.5 strokes per round on the greens. He had trouble giving himself chances off the tee but should fare better this week on more generous fairways/less penal rough.

It was his fourth straight top-25. In 2019 he posted T25 at the Tournament of Champions and T13 at the Sony Open.

Reed played three standard European Tour events last year. He did not win but finished in the top 25 in all three, including a T2 against a strong field at the DP World Tour Championship.

The 28-year-old’s come close since, but he’s still seeking his first win since the 2018 Masters. Reed does have four subsequent top-10s and only two missed cuts. He’s made his last five cuts.

Reed ranked second last season on the PGA Tour in SG around the green and 29th tee to green. He was also 27th in par-4 scoring.

This is his fourth event in five weeks between Hawaii, California and now Saudi Arabia, so fatigue could be a factor.
