Tony Finau makes just his second start at Pebble Beach, but he did alright for his first go-round back in 2017. He finished T23 (71-68-72-70) while hitting nearly three-fourths of his greens in regulation and 69 percent of fairways at Pebble Beach. It was a tough week on the greens, but I can find some forgiveness in his first time negotiating these tricky poa greens.

All good things must come to an end, which happened for Finau last week. His streak of 12 made cuts in a row was snapped at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. For whatever reason, TPC Scottsdale hasn’t been a course he’s excelled at. That leads me to think his poor showing was a product of a bad course for him and not a sign of concern for the short term.

Finau took T13 the week prior at the Farmers Insurance Open and ended 2018 with a solo second at the Hero World Challenge.

He’s 11th on Tour in strokes gained tee to green as well as sixth in strokes gained around the green. He’s second in driving distance, which is negated at these three courses, but length throughout the bag will help him capitalize on the par-5s (17th in scoring).
