Patrick Reed’s impressive string of performances at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am came to a close with a missed cut last year. It was only by one, though and prior, Reed posted T7-T13-T29-T6-T23 from 2013-17.

The 28-year-old American this week makes the trip across the world on short rest after taking 56th at the Saudi International. Reed was top 20 in Saudi Arabia in driving accuracy, driving distance and greens in regulation. His odd travel schedule has him going from California two weeks ago to the Middle East last week and now back to California, so beware of fatigue kicking in. Speaking of snapped streaks, that middling finish ended four consecutive top-25s as well six in the last seven.

It’s surprising that Reed’s yet to win since his Masters triumph, but only two missed cuts show he’s still grinding out there. He has five top-10s since then.

Reed’s been plenty busy in 2019, going T25 and T13 in the first two Hawaiian events and T13 at the Farmers Insurance Open (also poa greens).

Early 2018-19 PGA Tour stats show an improvement from 70th in strokes gained putting to 22nd. Last season Reed was second in strokes gained around the green which can help navigate the treacherous Pebble Beach rough that will only continue to grow from now to June.
