Dustin Johnson is a South Carolina native but seems to feel at home in southern California. He’s dominated the Genesis Open over his career and finally got a win at Riviera in 2017.

DJ has made 11 starts here and has seven top-10s to show for it. He was runner-up in 2014 and 2015. Last year he finished T16 in a topsy turvy week with scores of 74-69-64-73.

"“It’s a place I love coming back here,” Johnson said before the 2018 event. “This is one of my favorite golf courses we play all year. Obviously after winning last year, it’s just a place that’s always special to me and I enjoy coming back here every year.”"

The way DJ is playing these days, there aren’t many courses he doesn’t enjoy returning to.

The 34-year-old is coming off a win two weeks ago at the Saudi International, which he won by two with rounds of 68-61-65-67. He then followed it up with a (likely jet lagged) T45 finish last week at Pebble Beach.

Fatigue could be a factor in playing his third event in a row and fourth in five weeks, but he’s one of the world’s most consistent players.

His finish last week was his worst going back to a missed cut at the Open Championship in July. Since then, he’s finished T30 or better in 12 of 13 events with two win and seven top-10s.

DJ has just four rounds tracked on the PGA Tour this season, so using last season’s stats he was first in strokes gained tee to green. He was first in par-3, par-4 and par-5 scoring and 25th in approach from both 150-175 yards and 175-200.
