Jon Rahm is making his debut at Riviera this week. He’s won before in his first time seeing a course and also comes in on good form.

The 24-year-old is up to six top-10s in a row worldwide going back to November: T4-1-T8-6-T5-T10. His last start was a couple weeks ago at the Phoenix Open. He couldn’t quite vault into the title chase but rounds of 67-68-70-69 are hard to critique. Before, he fought through a flu to place sixth at the Desert Classic and then T5 against a tough field at Torrey Pines.

He’s one of the longest players in the field this week in LA and is sixth in strokes gained off the tee. If Rahm can stay out of the kikuya for the most part, he should be able to score around Riviera.

Rahm is fifth in par-4 scoring and is generally a good long iron player.

The Spaniard is consistent beyond his years and provides good value if you’re looking for a DFS player to give you four rounds. Rahm hasn’t missed a cut in a non-major/WGC/FedEx Cup event since 2017. Even without those restrictions, he missed just two in 2018.

Rahm, who played plenty of West Coast golf as a former Arizona State Sun Devil, has won on poa annua greens at the Farmers in 2017 and has fared alright on this surface.
