Sanghyun Park is a 38 year old South Korean journeyman who currently plays on the Japan Tour.

Not to be confused with the former #1 rated, current LPGA tour superstar Sung Hyun Park.

He’s somewhat of a legend in South Korea as he has won 8 times on the Korean Tour (including three times in 2018).

His victories on the Korean Tour include the SK Telecom Open in 2009, the SBS Emerson Pacific Hilton Namhae Open  in 2009 where he edged out Sang Moon Bae by one shot, the Vainer Pineridge Open (2014), the KJ Choi Invitational (2014), the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in both 2016 and 2018 as well as victories at the KEB Hana Bank Invitational and Shinhan Donghae Open both in 2018.

Park qualified for the 2018 British Open (his lone major appearance) where he shot rounds of 76 and 73 to miss the cut by four shots.

Park finished third behind Lee Westwood and Miguel Ángel Jiménez in the 2011 Ballantine’s Championship.

After winning the Shinhan Donghae Open, Park donated $100,000 of his winnings to a children’s charity. He’s currently listed at 300/1 odds of winning this week.
