SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – NOVEMBER 18: Jake McLeod of Australia tees off on the 16th hole during day four of the 2018 Australian Golf Open at The Lakes Golf Club on November 18, 2018 in Sydney, Australia. (Photo by Matt King/Getty Images) /

Jake McLeod is a 24 year old Australian Golfer who was the leading money winner on the PGA Tour of Australasia in 2018.

Add Jake to the long list of next great golfer to come out of Australia. While 20 year old phenom Ryan Ruffels seems to be getting all of the attention, McLeod has put himself in the conversation as the next best Australian golfer as evidenced by his recent play.

Being the leading money winner on the PGA Tour of Australasia granted him membership into the European Tour for 2019 as well as a tee time at the 2019 British Open at Royal Portrush.

McLeod has a knack for going low, recently shooting a 61 at the ISPS Handa Vic Open. He also shot a course record 62 at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club en route to his maiden victory at the New South Wales Open.

Apparently the secret to Jake’s success on the course owes itself to indulging in Honey Comb Ice Cream a flavor that is likely unfamiliar to readers in the U.S.

McLeod is known mainly for sporting a man bun during competition. However he made the quite the statement in December by sacrificing his signature hairstyle in support of the Jarrod Lyle Family Trust. Good on you mate.

Jake is a graduate of the QAS Golf Program where fellow Aussie and current world #28 Cameron Smith honed his game before playing on the world’s biggest stage.

He’s currently listed at 300/1 odds of winning this week.
