Golf has a complex and deep culture that surrounds it. There are written and unwritten rules. There is etiquette. And there is, of course, golf slang. The unique language to the game of golf.

The internet is chock full of golf slang lists so this list is just my favorites. Drop these the next time you play to liven up your conversation and maybe elicit a laugh or two.

Some of the terms are named after athletes. Some of them come from tv shows, or even movies. A couple of them make a whole lot of sense, whereas some of them definitely need the explanation to help make you understand.

End up in the trees? Yup, there is a term for that. A bad shot? Bad score? Yup, I got one for that as well. Regardless of how many of these you have heard of, or even the ones that you use during your round, golf slang makes the game much more interesting, and helps keep the stress down.

This isn’t a list of the best slang out there, nor is it one for the most used golf slang. Instead, it is a list full of the terms that I enjoy.

So here, in no particular order, are my Top 10 Favorite Golfisms.
