Alex Noren seeks to regain the form he showed both at last year’s Honda Classic as well as what he showed to end 2018.

The Swede posted solo third at the 2018 Honda Classic, atoning for a missed cut in his only other tournament appearance in 2013.

Noren had a wild time at PGA National last year when he recorded rounds of 66-75-65-67. His 65 tied for low round of the week.

Noren gave up about 20 yards off the tee to the playoff participants Justin Thomas and Luke List, but he made up for it by gaining seven strokes on the field on the greens.

He’s a good player in all sorts of conditions and resides in the area.

“I spend the winters down the street here, 15 minutes away. So I’m used to wind, but it’s very tricky when it’s so firm,” Noren said in 2018. “You’ve got to land the ball very short on the greens sometimes downwind and you’ve got to hit so many good iron shots.”Noren was third on Tour last season in strokes gained putting but is 205th this season in a small sample size.

Noren, 36, has played just three times in 2019 with a T44 at the Phoenix Open his best result.

He doesn’t have to look too far back, though, to see what he’s capable of. Noren posted five straight top-25s to close 2018.
