Adam Scott’s gotten into a groove at PGA National in recent years.

How does T12-1-T14-T13 all since 2014 look to you? The 38-year-old Aussie didn’t come to PGA National until 2011 and missed the cut in his debut, but he’s quickly gotten a handle of things.

He’s a combined 16-under since 2014 (best in the field) and with only three rounds above par. Both of those stats are more impressive than they appear.

Scott is also in good form as of late.

He was in the hunt at the Farmers Insurance Open where he finished solo second and was right there at the Genesis Open before fading on Sunday to a T7. Scott was one of few big names to skip last week’s WGC-Mexico, so he’ll be rested up for this one.

In 10 rounds this season on Tour, Scott’s been pretty solid save for the short game. He’s 18th in strokes gained putting and 28th in SG approaching the green.

Having a good iron game is important this week. Scott is second in proximity from 50-125 yards, third from 125-150 and 27th from 150-175.

His ball striking was the main reason he won here in 2016, but he was decent on the greens in one of his first starts post-anchored putter ban.

With the way he’s been playing and recent form on his side, Scott looks destined to cash a big check this weekend.
