Three Ponds Farm, Bridgehampton, New York

The final entry on our list of America’s most exclusive golf courses happens to be across the street from one of the country’s most expensive.

Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton is by most accounts a very exclusive golf course. Located in the Hamptons, the course costs an estimated $200,000 to join. Designed by Rees Jones and most recently touched up by Tyler Rae, it is a fine layout by any account.

But for this list we’re not talking about Atlantic, instead we’re referring to its neighbor on the south side of Scuttle Hole Road.

Three Ponds Farm was also designed by Rees Jones, but for this project the only member would be the owner himself, Edward S. Gordon.

Jones was tasked with building an 18 hole private golf course on just 60 acres of farmland. What he conceived of, is nothing short of brilliant. The course has but three fairways and four greens, but using his imagination and creativity Jones designed a routing that allows for an 18 hole round.

Construction of the only took four months and the course was opened in 1996.

Golf Digest recently made a video titled “The $60 Million Backyard Golf Course” with Jones in tow that I highly recommend.

From the looks of it, the property seems to be for sale; so if you’re in the market for a house in the Hamptons with your own golf course and you happen to have $49 Million you’re in luck.
