The mercurial Bryson DeChambeau has cooled off a bit from his torrid pace to start 2019. He finished in the top 10 of his first four worldwide events, which included a win over some big names at the European Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic.

His last three starts on the PGA Tour are T15-T56-T46. That still extends his cuts made streak to eight between Tours. When he got out on Tour, DeChambeau’s downticks extended weeks and meant plenty of missed cuts.

Now that he’s starting to see courses for the second or third time, the former world No. 1 amateur is grinding out better finishes week in and week out.

This will be his second Players Championship start as he just missed on qualifying in 2017 and finished T37 (70-67-73-71).

DeChambeau is a positive across the board in strokes gained including 28th tee to green. He’s one of the few in the top 50 in both driving distance (37th, 302.8) and driving accuracy (47th, 66.47).

He hasn’t excelled in particular in any one stat but his well-roundedness suits him well at a course like this.
