King Louis has three top-20s in five starts at the Valspar Championship. That includes a T7 in 2016 (72-70-70-70) and T16 (71-69-69-72) in 2018 in his last two starts.

He also was T20 in 2012 at an event where South Africans have showed well at before. Retief Goosen is twice a winner and Louis’ friend Charl Schwartzel won in 2016. Jordan Spieth’s win in 2014 was the only American to win since 2013, though Americans have been runner up every year since 2013.

Oosthuizen kept his schedule light early in the year but is gearing up for Augusta next month where he’s historically played well.

The 36-year-old finished fourth against a solid field in Abu Dhabi and T25 at the WGC-Mexico. He took T59 last week at the Players (73-70-73-70). Oosthuizen hit 75 percent of his fairways and 68.06 percent GIR.

He’s also 30th in driving distance and 13th in driving accuracy. If he can have shorter clubs into holes, that could account for his slow putting start to 2019 (186th strokes gained).

Oosthuizen’s approach stats aren’t great but he’s third in proximity from 200-225 yards, which is useful around the Copperhead Course.
