If you made a list of top players at the Texas Open to not win, Billy Ho might be at the top. The former Florida Gator has three top-fives and a T11 in eight starts at TPC San Antonio.

His high-water mark was T3 in 2013 and solo third in 2015. Last year, Horschel fired rounds of 68-71-70-70 to post T11.

“Yeah, I feel very comfortable on these greens,” Horschel said in 2013. “I also felt comfortable on last week’s greens, growing up on Bermuda. I think I feel very comfortable in the sense of speed and understanding how to read the putts and everything.”

The 32-year-old is seeking his first PGA Tour win since 2017. His play over the last two years shows he’s close.

Horschel had four top-fives in 2018 and while he has just one top-10 in 2019 (eighth at the Farmers Insurance), he’s 5-for-5 in cuts made with a T16 at the Honda Classic and a T26 at the Players.

He also went 1-1-1 at the WGC-Match Play last week.

Horschel rank eighth on Tour in strokes gained putting. His ball striking stats have dipped from 2018 as he’s outside the top 100 in approach, but considering he’s been in the top 70 almost all of his career, I expect him to start turning it around this summer.
