Tiger Woods is gearing up for the Masters, just over a week away. Not only is he getting his game right, but his partners at Nike are helping him throw it back, channeling his last victory at Augusta National.

Tiger Woods is always one of the favorites heading to the Masters. It’s part of being one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of spikes. And, you know, the four green jackets don’t hurt either.

That mark leaves Woods tied with Arnold Palmer for the second-most Augusta victories of all time. The record, of course, still belongs to Jack Nicklaus, whose six Masters victories propelled him to 18 total majors. That’s what Woods has been chasing, stuck on 14 ever since winning the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.

Woods will head to Augusta National to try to rekindle the glory of years past once more, and he arguably looks as good on the course as he has in years. But there may be a little more in his mind this year, as he and Nike have released his outfit scripting for the year’s first major championship. Tiger is nothing if not a student of the game, and in this case, he’s bringing back a little of his own history.

Tiger will be dressed in short-sleeved mockneck polos for each of the four tournament rounds next week, culminating in a throwback Sunday getup that he’ll affectionately refer to as “Victory Red”.

If that last one looks familiar, it’s for good reason. Woods hit one of the most iconic shots of his career at Augusta National in 2005, the chip-in on the 16th hole that paused, picture-perfect, on the lip of the cup, Swoosh and all, before dropping and igniting the throngs of patrons surrounding Woods.

I’ve always been a big believer in the “look good, feel good – feel good, play good” mentality. Maybe that’s something I share with Tiger Woods, who has evolved his style with his game over two decades of greatness. Okay, maybe it’s not, but whatever this is, it’s shot-calling at its finest.

You don’t just roll into the Masters, fully prepared to wear the same thing you wore the last time you won the green jacket unless you’re feeling a certain type of way about your game. All eyes will be on Tiger Woods next week. And we’ll get to see if green and red go together at least one more time.
