Is it Big Game Brooks’ time to shine again? He’s not quite so big after his recent weight loss, and his wallet’s been getting thinner in recent weeks, too.

His last three starts are MC-T56-T56. He put it together to nearly win the Honda Classic (T2), but that’s Koepka’s first top-10 on American soil since the Northern Trust in August.

These are reasons why he isn’t ranked higher for me this week. But he’s won three of the last six majors, people!

Plus, we know full well by now that the run of the mill PGA Tour events don’t seem to get his juices flowing the same way,

He should be fired up to get to Augusta after missing last year with a wrist injury.

"“It was very frustrating, sitting on the couch, not doing anything,” Koepka said. “I couldn’t pick anything up with my left hand. I couldn’t even pull a sheet up over me. I was in a soft cast all the way up to my elbow (for two months). It wasn’t fun. A lot of TV. I don’t wish it upon anybody.”"

He appeared to be figuring things out around this place. Koepka posted a solid T33 in his debut in 2015 and has improved to a T21 in 2016 and T11 in 2017.

A bomb and gouge player of this mold is capable of catching fire at Augusta, especially if the course plays softer with possibility for rain in the forecast.

His putting stats could use some work, but his ball striking numbers aren’t far off from the pace he set the last two years.
