Francesco Molinari

Rory McIlroy might be the hottest golfer in 2019 so far, but Francesco Molinari isn’t too far behind him. Over the last three events that he has played in, he won The Arnold Palmer. Then he played alot of par golf at THE PLAYERS. He made a strong run at the WGC Dell Match Play, and ended up taking third place.

Unlike the previous players on this list, Molinari has not seen any success at The Masters. A T19 in 2012, and then a T20 in 2018 are his best finishes. For him to make a serious run, he is going to need to play the course differently than he ever has in the past.

What I like about Molinari is how hot he can get, and the confidence that he plays with. There are few people who can get hotter in a round than Molinari can, as evidenced in his win at The Arnold Palmer. He came out and shot 64 in the final round on a day when a lot of the leaders were not scoring well.

This is something that could bode well for Molinari. The Masters and Augusta is a course that can wreak havoc on even the best golfer. If the final round of The Arnold Palmer starts to repeat itself this weekend, Molinari has a strong chance to take advantage and make a run at his first Green Jacket.
