Webb Simpson was the only one in the 60s in all four rounds at the 2018 RBC Heritage. The steady veteran finished T5 (69-68-69-68) for his fifth top-25 in nine starts at this event.

He striped it to the tune of 75% driving accuracy and hit 63.89 percent GIR, which is better than it looks at small greens like these.

Simpson was also T11 here in 2017, so confidence should be brimming.

It helps that Simpson comes in off a good week at the Masters. The 33-year-old finished T5 (72-71-64-70) and his 134 weekend score was bested only by 132 from Patrick Cantlay.

Simpson played well in the fall to start the 2018-19 Tour season and in 2019 has four top-20s.

He ranks 31st in overall strokes gained and is 21st in approach. Simpson is good at limiting mistakes and is 11th in SG around the greens. He’s 10th in sand saves.

His SG off the tee stats aren’t great, but that’s largely due to a lack of length (180th in driving distance). He’s 13th in driving accuracy, which is another tool at his disposal at Harbour Town.

Simpson’s played some solid golf since his 2018 Players win and it’s about time he’s rewarded with a new trophy.
