Aiken, South Carolina native Kevin Kisner has played pretty well in his home state over the years. Even though last week’s Masters was closer to home, he’ll still have a good following here at Harbour Town.

Kisner’s made four of five cuts at the RBC Heritage including solo second in a playoff vs. Jim Furyk in 2015, T11 in 2017 and T7 in 2018 where he shot 69-68-66-72.

“I think I’m getting more support every year. It’s great to come back to the home state and get to play here,” Kisner said in 2018. “I love the golf course. I love the area. I spent a lot of time here in my youth so I’m very familiar with it. I always enjoy all the support I can get.”

Kisner (.323 shots gained) wasn’t quite himself on the greens here last year but his ball striking and short game were pretty reliable in windy conditions.

The 35-year-old posted book-ending 69s at Augusta last week en route to T21. That followed his impressive win at the WGC-Match Play where he knocked off Matt Kuchar and Francesco Molinari among others.

Kisner has been steady Eddie with eight straight top-30s and 10 made cuts.

He’s top 40 in strokes gained off the tee, approach and putting and is also 22nd in driving accuracy.

Kisner has proven he can contend most anywhere despite not being the longest guy out there, but Harbour Town sets up particularly well for him.
