Graeme McDowell – 50/1

Terrible horse jokes aside (dark horse, saddle….groan), McDowell is off the schneid. After going years without a win, McDowell was able to get back into the winners circle by taking 1st at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. Even though it was the same time as the Match Play Championship, a win on The PGA Tour is still a win.

McDowell had been missing the cut as often as he had been making it since 2015, seemingly missing around 40-50% of the cuts. The likely case for this? McDowell struggles everywhere that isn’t the green.

SG: Off The Tee: -.269 , 165th

SG: Approach the green: -.028, 123rd

SG: Around the green: .105, 79th

SG: Putting: .790, 7th!!!!

Once McDowell is on the green, he is money. The wiley vet might just be turning it around after the win at Corales Puntacana. Coming in at 50/1, he is definitely one of the dark horses that I like. For a course that can play well to the more cerebral hitters, Graeme can pick and choose his attacks, playing smart. If he does, I like his chances heading into the weekend.

Hans actually likes Graeme too, listing him in his weekly DFS picks for this week.
