RBC Heritage: Dark Horses to watch out for at Hilton Head
Keith Mitchell – 60/1
Every since winning the The Honda Classic, and having the No Name article published by the Palm Beach Post, I’ve been a fan of Mitchell. I think that behind closed doors it upset him, although he played it off and said it didn’t bother him. Which is the right call. At an all-time high after winning a great event like The Honda Classic, the high road is the right road.
Mitchell played his next tourney well, finishing with a T6 at The Arnold Palmer, which was quite the loaded field. Since then, things have been a little rough. He has made the cut in the three events he has played in, but he has finished in the 40’s each time.
Looking into it, he looks to be the opposite of Graeme McDowell. When you look at his SG, you can see what I mean.
SG: Off The Tee: .672, 10th
SG: Approach The Green: .368, 46th
SG: Tee to Green: 1.124, 22nd
SG: Putting: -.358, 174th
Whereas putting is the only thing keeping McDowell in matches, it ends up being the culprit for why Mitchell could struggle. Through 25 rounds, Mitchell has lost nearly 9 strokes putting. When the putter is on, he turns into a top 15-20 player. With the limited pool this week at the RBC Heritage, Mitchell instantly becomes one of the dark horses I am interested in.
Hans actually likes Mitchell as well, listing him in his weekly DFS picks for this week.
