If you like pure ball striking, this is the group for you. Both were inside the top 40 in strokes gained tee to green last season and top 20 in greens in regulation.

Finau played the last two editions of the Zurich Classic with fellow Utahn Daniel Summerhayes. They finished sixth last year.

Stanley took 29th with Ryan Ruffels in 2017 and sat out 2018.

Finau is No. 15 in the world. He earned his way into the final group on Sunday at the Masters. He wasn’t quite ready to win his first major, but a T5 at Augusta is still plenty encouraging.

While his bomb and gouge style of play can be volatile in match play, his results are very consistent. Finau has made five cuts in a row and 16 of his last 17.

In the 2018-19 season he has solo second place finishes at the WGC-HSBC Championship and at the Hero World Challenge.

Stanley is more of a streaky player. He got hot last summer to record two runner-up finishes against quality competition at the Memorial and WGC-Bridgestone.

This year has been rough with seven missed cuts but he’s made two in a row leading in: T52 at the Texas Open and T21 at the Masters.

Finau is as friendly of a guy on Tour and would seem to pair well with anyone. Perhaps he can bring out the best in the more reserved Stanley.
