Same first name aside, these two are polar opposites. Cantlay is stoic and reserved on the course while Reed packs more of a punch.

“We bring each other to the middle,” Cantlay was quoted by the PGA Tour in 2017.

The duo finished T14 in 2017 at 17-under. They fired 16-under in best ball but couldn’t get it going in alternate shot.

Patrick squared posted 17-under in 2018, which was good for T7 (65-71-66-69).

Last year it was Reed who came in with the best form after just winning a green jacket.

This time it’s Cantlay. He’s No. 18 in the world with top-10s in four of his eight starts. Based on the OWGR, this is the strongest team in the field with a combined ranking of 37.

He briefly held the lead late on Sunday at the Masters en route to a T9 (his best finish in a major). Cantlay followed it up by contending at the RBC Heritage for a T3 where he shot 66-69 on the weekend.

Reed sits at No. 19 in the world and is coming off a T36 in his Masters defense. He has six top-25s and just one missed cut in 2019, but is still seeking his first top-10 as well as first win since Augusta.

Cantlay has the precision to give this pair plenty of chances while Reed has the ability to heat up and rise to the occasion in this type of competition.

Cantlay did not play the Zurich as an individual. Reed finished T24 in 2012 for his best individual result in three tries.
